Over the past three years The Old School - Asheville has used the bulk of our resources to help launch with Hood Huggers International work with youth from the Burton Street Community. We are proud of their work and look forward to continuing to partner with Hood Huggers in new ways as far into the into future as we can imagine.
We are excited to announce that The Old School- Asheville has partnered with RAWtools to bring their movement for peace to the South. We will start doing business as RAWtools South.
Starting in 2024 RAWtools South will start turning swords into plowshares. We are available to cut up guns. We offer blacksmithing demonstrations. We will bring our trained facilitators and all of the equipment to run safe-surrender events (a.k.a. Gun buybacks). We work with congregations and civic groups to reduce gun violence by bringing programming to events, workshops, conferences, and worship services. Our insurance travels with us and covers liability and volunteers.
